KICKSTARTER PROJECT UPDATE #7

Just a Few Hours to Go

20 déc. 2013

Dear Friends,

With little time left on the clock and our goal within striking distance I am amazed and deeply moved at all the support we are receiving.

Last night, I went to talk about the project on the "African Show" the long running program anchored by Dr. Lawrence Nii Nartey on WKCR FM. For those who don't know, WKCR is Columbia University's student radio and the first FM station in history. It is student run and has wonderful programming with a particular dedication to Jazz; but all music is represented (except for crass commercial music—yes!!!!). I have been listening to KRC and the African Show ever since I arrived in New York thirty years ago so it is a thrill to be there. Dr. Nii Nartey is a consummate gentleman, he took the time to ask me all about the Kickstarter, demonstrate the flute, and play music from my CD. I thank him for his consideration and kindness.

By the way, I highly recommend that you tune to WKCR FM during the holidays as, like every year, they will be playing the music of J.S. Bach around the clock for 10 days starting tomorrow. There is nothing that feels more like Christmas than Bach all day! Try it (wkcr.org).

At the time of writing this, there is only $2,781 left to go and at 7PM it will be all over for this Kickstarter. If we reach $24,999 we won't receive a penny, so I am encouraging everybody to please not let up until we cross the finish line.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am forever humbled by your wonderful support.
Best wishes,

Sylvain
