Success
23 déc. 2013Dear Friends.
WE MADE IT !!!!
It was a real nail-biter finish. Evidently, many people were monitoring the situation and jumped in to help. Contributions were coming in a steady stream all day Friday and we crossed the finish line at around 6:15PM with 45 minutes to spare. Needless to say that I was relieved and elated.
Sometimes in life, there are moments like this when things toggle one way or another with far reaching consequences. This was such a moment for me with the desirable outcome emerging. A happy ending... or rather, happy beginning.
The next few months promise to be very interesting between preparing the trip, living in Conakry, teaching the kids, and putting together a CD and a movie. It will be wonderful, for the first time in a long while to spend an extended period of time concentrating solely on creative concerns.
I cannot describe the feelings at being the recipient of so much generosity and support. This will positively resonate with me for years to come, like the ringing of a huge gong. I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart and I promise that I will do my best to live up to your vote of confidence.
This forum will be used as a blog to keep you informed of the developments. I am not sure how frequently I will be able to connect to the Internet from Conakry but I will try to post periodic updates.
Thank you once again.
I wish you Happy Holidays, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Sylvain
